We are collecting donations for several projects

We support different organizations like orphanages, schools and other social projects in Uganda. As we are connected to AFAO – Alliance For Africa’s Orphanages, we support their projects as well. With a filter you can check our different categories and find the project you would like to donate too.

Uganda's Emergency Food Project by Richard Ssenkindu

Without food, no live is possible

Help Support Education

Orphanages, schools ,and schools that support orphanages, are not supported by the government. The pupils are required to pay tuition to attend school. Out of the tuition, the director has to pay rent, food for the children, the teachers’ salaries, and the school materials. But, the fact is that because of limited income opportunities, the money that is budgeted to pay for school tuition is usually spent for food and so, by the end of the month there is no money and no food. The more orphans the school supports, the greater the demand for money and donations.

Every dollar is needed!

Food at school

The parent that are sending their children to e.g. Alpha & Omega Primary school pay $10-12 per semester. And even this little money is hard to pay for most of the parents in rural Uganda. Most of the parents do not have the money to give the children food and water for their day. They get food, when they come back home in the evening.

At Alpha & Omega Primary school, students are asked to pay $10-12 per semester, for their food. However, in rural Uganda, even this small expense seems insurmountable. As the result, most of the children wo without food and water for the day, and only eat and drink when they return home in the evening. Mr. Richard Ssenkindu, Director of Alpha & Omega Primary School, wants his students to have clean water and healthy food.
(Unfortunately, this situation is echoed across rural areas in Africa. This is only one example)

Orphanages in Uganda need help!

Our mission is to create a network of organizations and increase their level of support, through fundraising. We verify organizations in Uganda and help other country partners of AFAO – Alliance For Africa’s Orphanages to do the same in their countries. (We visited Kenya in April 2018.) With our help, the organizations in Uganda will learn how to use their smartphones to get more attention from the social media. We link them to other organizations and build up a Social Charity Network.

Our main goals are:

  1. Empower organizations to reach self-sufficiency
  2. Support Orphanages to fullfill regulations
  3. Bring food and clothes to the needy
  4. Build up Poultry farmes
  5. Improve farming
  6. Improve teambuilding
  7. Verify existing organizations

Eliakims project to fight infections from Jiggers

Jiggers are sand fleas

Source: wikipedia

Jiggers is a parasitic infestation that usually enters the body through a break in the skin of the feet, an affliction that affects poor, shoeless people. African orphans are frequently victims. We need help to fight this disease. Our effort will be focused on Kenya and Uganda, initially. We will stage outreach programs to locate and treat victims with medication and sanitation. You can help us to pay for shoes, medications and equipment plus mobilization expenses.

Our plans are:

  • get medicine and supplies
  • hire medical personal
  • purchase and distribute shoes
  • mobilization

Alpha & Omega Orphanage School

Alpha & Omega Primary School currently takes care of 330 children, coming from the most needy families in the area. They need financial support to provide the children a happy and safe lives.

This is the overview for the 330 children (a breakdown of costs is listed in the table on the right):

  1. FOOD AND CLEAN WATER would costs $14,850 per month.
  2. BEDDING would cost $8,481 to provide decent bedding, including mattresses, bed sheets, and blankets.
  3. SHOES, would costs for a good quality shoe  $2,805.
  4. CLOTHING expense $1,881.
  5. NEW CONSTRUCTION FOR STAFF ACCOMMODATIONS, ADD SANITATION AND TOILETS costs $14285 to construct and install electricity in them.
  6. We also need some projects like diary project and poultry for eggs and milk for the kids. Diary project we need five cows where each costs us  $2857.
  7. Then poultry we need to start with 2000 birds which will cost us $3714.20. This will include feeding and labour for till the time to begin producing eggs.
  8. To avoid problems during drought, we need 1-2 wells and several water tanks.
  9. In future it would help us to have a school bus to bring children to the school and help the Children tour around Uganda and make study tours. This will needs about $27142.80 for a used bus.

So we are here to request all friends to stand with us in our struggle to make the lives of the poor Children happy, we request you to help us because each $ means a lot to the life of the children and without it, then we find it hard to take care of the needy and orphaned children.

Usefull cars

Cost overview

day week month once
Food for one child $1.50 $10.50 $45.00
bedding for a child $27.50
1 pair of shoes $8.50
clothing (1 set) $5.70
1 bird (Poultry) $2.50
1 cow $580
solar installation $1250
1 watertank $1250
1 room for 1 person $1500
1 well $2500
1 used truck $20000
1 used schoolbus $30000

One project to change the world – our target!

Feeding the children every day is a lot of money and without help he cannot afford this. If Mr. Richard Ssenkindu just gets $495 a day, he could feed all the 330 children. But he will need this money every day. And nothing will change!

A vision that could come true!

If he gets some more money, he can start a poultry project that will bring eggs and meat really quick to a level where he will only need $300-350 and he can create some small income to build up things that are broken. And he can rent land to grow crops. He can fertilize with the poultry droppings and get higher yields. If he grows maize, he can produce the food for the poultry, too.

With 5 cows he can start a a farm and livestock project. He can produce milk, butter, meat. The manure can be used again or give to the neighbors to help them grow more and better crops. More produced food, lower costs for buying food.

But all this will fail without 1-2 wells next to the school and next to the farm and/or fields. And a good help would be several tanks to store water.

With a better infrastructure the whole neighborhod will profit from this and the children would have a better chance to be healthy and get a good education.

The food that is produced and that could not be sold could be taken home from the children to help their parents.

And there is much more that could help this project. Building a secondary school and pick up the pupils with their own schoolbus from the villages surrounding the school.

To get all the materials and bring goods to the markets and to the neighbors a truck would be a very good idea.

Children's Solution

Children’s Solution is a registered non government and non profit organization whose task is to render support to Orphaned and needy vulnerable children through provision of quality basic education, food, shelter, medical care, etc in Rakai district.
Here are some of the children at Children’s Solution. With small support contributed plus the small funds from our mugger sources, we have managed to construct some classroom blocks from which these children study. They are still under construction because they need plastering, flooring,Windows and doors and finishing. If we get rid of dust in classes, we shall have no more jiggers . To complete these three classroom block, it needs $ 30,000. Here are some children in class.

CLEAN WATER:

We would love to buy some four water tanks to be able to harvest rain water. Currently, these children are drinking contaminated and dirty water. Each plastic water tank of 10000 litres costs $1250 (including installation). Water tanks look like this:

TEACHERS’ SALARIES:

As the children we support can’t afford to pay the tuition, we find a lot of difficulties to met our teachers’ monthly salaries. These teachers do tremendous work of educating this future generation. Each teacher needs $ 150 per month As we have some children and some teaching staff that stay at the school, we find the problem of darkness that may cause insecurity. Each classroom needs $ 1250 for solar installation.

ABOUT FOOD:

There some children( 150) that are homeless and others come from from very far from our centre and so in order to enable them enjoy these privileges from this organization. This compelled us to host them at the centre which caused the demand for feeding at least two meals a day. Feeding them a day, it costs $ 225. Here are some children lining for lunch.

ACCOMMODATION:

These children that are hosted by the organization due to limited resources, hardly have beds. We bought some mattresses for them but beds are highly needed to be able to maintain cleanliness. We need 50 more mattresses and each costs $ 18 and a metallic bed costs $ 82 and we need 35 metallic beds. Here are the beds we need.
